For more than three decades, Shereen Fuqua has built a unique career at the intersection of business, equestrian sport, athlete development, journalism, philanthropy, and product innovation.

After earning a business degree from the University of Denver, Fuqua spent over twenty years in commercial real estate, leading the disposition of a billion-dollar portfolio during the Savings & Loan Crisis before joining one of the nation's premier development companies. Her experience in merchandising, marketing, consumer behavior, and strategic growth would later become the foundation for her entrepreneurial ventures within the equestrian industry.

Since becoming involved in horse sport in the mid-1990s, Fuqua has developed an extensive network of relationships throughout North America and Europe through competition, horse acquisition, sponsorship, journalism, athlete management, and business development. As an amateur rider, she successfully competed at the Grand Prix level in dressage and founded Collecting Gaits Farm, a premier equestrian facility dedicated to excellence in training, horse development, and sport.

Her commitment to giving back to the industry became a defining part of her legacy. Through Collecting Gaits Farm, Fuqua served as Title Sponsor of the U.S. National Dressage Championships and Olympic Selection Events for nearly a decade, followed by five years as Presenting Sponsor of the USEF Pony Finals. Additional sponsorships at the national, regional, and local levels have reflected her longstanding dedication to supporting the growth of equestrian sport and the next generation of riders.

In 2005, Fuqua founded GumBits®, an innovative equine product developed to support horse performance and comfort. What began with top dressage riders has expanded to horse owners and competitors across multiple disciplines, creating a loyal customer base that continues to grow worldwide.

For five years, Fuqua also served as Equestrian Editor for a luxury lifestyle publication covering New York, the Hamptons, Palm Beach, Miami, Wellington, and the Winter Equestrian Festival. Through interviews and feature stories, she gained valuable insight into the sport's leading athletes, trainers, owners, and industry professionals while sharing their stories with a broader audience.

Since 2007, Fuqua has devoted significant time to the development and management of elite equestrian athlete Kat Fuqua. Guiding a career that began at age six, she has helped oversee training, competition schedules, horse acquisitions, and strategic planning across multiple disciplines. The result has been success at the highest levels of hunters, equitation, jumpers, and dressage, including international competition representing the United States.

Today, Fuqua remains uniquely involved in both FEI Dressage and FEI Jumping—two disciplines that rarely overlap at the elite level. Combined with decades of business experience, international travel, sponsorship, journalism, and athlete development, these relationships provide a broad perspective and depth of industry knowledge that few possess.
